Job Description

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) functions as a regional medical and scientific resource responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with national and regional External Experts (EEs) in support of key scientific medical objectives. The MSL engages in fair-balanced scientific exchange with EEs, provides education of health care providers on Teva products and disease states of interest, and provides clinical research support in the therapeutic areas of interest to Teva. This position is for the Florida territory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage collaborative relationships with External Experts (EEs) and other healthcare professionals in the area of Oncology.

  • Provide relevant medical and scientific support for healthcare providers, third-party payers, managed care audiences, and internal cross functional partners (e.g., sales training, speaker training, advisory meetings, marketing-led initiatives, etc.)

  • Deliver high quality medical education presentations in a variety of settings

  • Professionally represent Teva at select medical meetings and programs

  • Assist clinical development in identifying potential investigators and sites for company sponsored clinical trials; support clinical trials, and provide support for researchers and healthcare providers interested in doing research with Teva

  • Provide and disseminate relevant medical and scientific information regarding Teva products and related therapeutic areas

  • Respond to requests for medical information and/or unsolicited off-label questions in a scientific, fair-balanced, compliant manner

  • Gather and disseminate feedback on Teva products and competitive intelligence from multiple sources

  • Complete accurate and timely administrative reports, projects, and other required documentation

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Advanced scientific degree (M.D., D.O., Ph.D., Pharm.D.) or equivalent required

  • At least one year of MSL experience or 3-5 years of prior experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or related experience with medical or scientific focus preferred

  • Experience within Oncology preferred;

The Medical Science Liaison develops professional relationships with thought leaders and academic centers and translates those relationships into business and research opportunities, as well as providing timely, accurate, unbiased fair-and balanced product information to internal and external customers. The Medical Science Liaison disseminates technical and scientific presentations to critical stakeholders including: key institutions, key opinion leaders, and insurance companies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Interpret and effectively communicate relevant medical and scientific topics and literature; * Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of disease state, clinical information, and product data within assigned therapeutic area; * Support and facilitate medical communications and publications (e.g. abstracts, case studies/series, review articles, etc.); * Initiate and manage scientific studies for use in post-marketing investigations; * Assist with the development and review of scientific marketing presentation materials; * Contribute to development of databases of medical and scientific information regarding products and similar/competing products; * Support marketing and sales teams with medical and scientific expertise; * Work effectively across multidisciplinary groups in a timely fashion in support of business outcomes; * Support sales training activities by serving as a product expert in training sessions; * Present complex medical and scientific ideas fluently to internal and external audiences including, health care professionals, managed care organizations, key health care decision makers, patents functions and Executives; * Attend major conventions, symposiums, advisory board programs, and congresses to provide medical and scientific support to internal and external customers; * Identify, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. What do you bring? A feeling for new chances and the drive to take up new challenges * Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, PharmD, etc.); * 8 years related experience with at least 4 years' as an MSL in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device space; * Experience in osteoarthritis, orthobiologics or orthopedics preferred; * Demonstrated computer experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point; * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail; * Possess advanced level scientific knowledge and professional demeanor to earn and maintain the respect of all health care professionals; * Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%; * Ability to work well within a team and relate to all levels within the company; * Must possess a professional and friendly attitude; * Working cooperatively with others to help a team or work group achieve its goals; * Effectively managing one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
