Serving as a field-based extension of Medical Affairs, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company and their approved product to treat adolescent and adult patients with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as additional pipeline products as appropriate.

The MSL will build long-term peer to peer relationships with thought leaders, payers and other stakeholders within the healthcare community to deliver robust clinical conversations, providing and delivering presentations and testimonies, building customer relationships, and leading strategic discussions as it relates to key clinical issues/concepts, and health economic and outcomes research data on Company products. The MSL is responsible for engaging, cultivating and maintaining collaborative relationships with influential members of the medical community by engaging with a variety of different healthcare professionals across the spectrum of the healthcare system including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and physician assistants in the clinic/practice/institution setting, and with medical and pharmacy directors, formulary committees, case managers, Medicaid decision-makers, and others in the managed care setting. Through these interactions, the MSL will assess changes to and emerging pressures on practice environments and understand local, regional, and national initiatives relevant to Company business. These scientific exchanges will support and/or expand current therapeutic concepts, as well as ensure the safe and effective utilization of Company product(s).

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships across the various customer segments in a Clinical and Hospital/Institution setting a and Managed Care

  • Schedule appointments and meet with key contacts to foster peer-to-peer relationships.

  • Identify new contacts or Scientific Leaders for customer engagement within each therapeutic area

  • Support Medical Affairs IIR strategy Identify customers who are interested in research, collaboration, ad board participation, speaking engagements, etc.

  • Provide fair-balanced, accurate information in response to product and medical information requests. This includes discussion of risk information, relevant therapeutic areas, identification of unmet needs and communication of relevant information back to Company.

  • Respond to existing products inquiries upon customer request. Collect and share insights across the Medical Affairs organization Work in alignment with other functions including Medical Affairs, Market Access Leadership, Brand Leadership, State Government Affairs, and any other key internal stakeholders to ensure execution of field medical strategies.

  • Execute the National Identify regional/local meetings of interest in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.Maintain a presence at major, relevant medical meetings and communicate important information back to the Company.

  • Act as a liaison between Managed Care organizations and Medical Affairs in supporting payer needs.

Degree and Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree preferred PharmD NP, PA with relevant experience will be considered.

  • 3+ years' experience in a field medical role in the pharma/healthcare industry or comparable experience

  • Appreciation and understanding for the pharmaceutical environment

  • Prior experience in a field MSL role with experience in customer management and engagement in the clinic, hospital institutions, and managed care setting preferred

  • Disease state knowledge in Company therapeutic areas (e.g, CNS)

  • Strong drug information skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate via formal presentation, verbal testimony, or customer dialogue/conversation

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment

  • Ability to interface effectively with a variety of technical platforms for the collection, review, and dissemination of medical information.

  • A willingness and ability to travel, locally and regionally, up to 70% (approx.10-12 overnights per month). May vary by regions.

  • Must live in close proximity to a major international airport and have a valid U.S driver's license in good standing.

Job Responsibilities * Leads efforts in recognizing, identifying, cultivating, and integrating KOL relationships in specific therapeutic areas of interest to MSRxCommercial Operations. Identifies opportunities for scientific growth and generation of medical evidence in support and/or expansion of current utilization of therapies and execution of mutual interest initiatives such as research and continuing medical education (CME). * Identifies, develops and manages KOL relationships on a continuum of advocacy in support of company objectives and enhancing MSRx's reputation as a scientifically-innovative industry partner. * Acquires and maintains a level of medical-scientific knowledge in an assigned therapeutic area(s) and/or disease state(s) involving clinical issues related to MSRx's products; able to interpret and disseminate pertinent scientific/ clinical data and evaluates current and new information as it applies to MSRx's therapies. * Contributes to periodic updates of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and responses to standard response letters (SRL) in a fair and balanced manner. * Tactical delivery of programs according to established objectives and serves as a resource for education and dissemination of pertinent, clear, and balanced medical-scientific information to internal audiences (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Research & Development and Sales) and external audiences (healthcare professionals, consumers, patient organizations, distributors, etc.) Job Qualifications * Minimum of 5-10 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred. Prior experience in providing MSL-level support to products or devices in specific therapeutic areas, including KOL development, investigator-initiated clinical trials, publications and educational programs highly preferred. * MSL and/or strong clinical and research experience in CNS, and specifically epilepsy therapeutic area highly preferred. * Advanced degree in a Medical and or scientific field (i.ePharmD, or PhD), or clinical experience in relevant discipline (i.e. CN, APN, NP, PA-C), preferred. * CRA, clinical project experience a plus. * Experience in other Medical Affairs functions (i.e., Publication Planning, Scientific communications, HEOR, etc) is highly preferred. * Excellent written, oral, communication, leadership and organizational skills. * Willingness to travel at minimum 50% of time). * Solid interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated relationship builder. * Strong presentation and writing skills.
