About The Role:
In this position you will provide support for the full spectrum of US Medical Reinsurance underwriting services, including client relationships, deal pre-qualification & underwriting, reinsurance agreement structuring, and ongoing account maintenance. As a new line of business for Swiss Re, you will also support strategic planning, financial reporting and marketing efforts for US Medical Reinsurance.
Conduct all aspects of deal underwriting, including client solutions, discussing options, negotiating terms, and managing in-force treaties.
Handle internal referrals as required by guidelines
Work closely with actuaries to deliver technical support to clients and manage financial results
Monitor and track account and line of business level profitability levels
Manage new business and renewal contract negotiations
Coordinate claims, medical management and other SR support functions to assure excellent client and administrative support
Support the development of the Annual Plan and projections
About The Team:
Identify potential health clients using existing market knowledge and available internal and published client information
Engage with existing and potential clients to build relationships and market Swiss Re's services
Participate in client discussions regarding all account matters
Construct financial scenarios for client discussions
Compliance and Controlling:
Ensures compliance with all Swiss Re guidelines, underwriting and pricing parameters, best practices as well as Code of Conduct
Support GIA, Business Risk Review and other internal audits of the line of business
Maintain adequate documentation to support underwriting decisions and demonstrate adherence to guidelines
Bachelor's degree or higher
Medical product underwriting training
Actuarial experience or designation a plus
10 years of underwriting or account management practice in insurance and/or reinsurance
5+ years of recent health industry/insurance/managed care experience
Minimum 3 years experience as a client manager or representative
