Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities."

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze outpatient treatment/health records to verify that all components of the record are present, complete, and filed in proper sequence

  • Utilize electronic medical records systems to scan, save and insert viable medical documentation into the electronic medical record.

  • Prepare and process authorization for disclosure of documents on all requests for copies of medical records from patients, physicians, or other medical treatment facilities.

  • Research medical records, paper or electronic, and computer programs for specific medical documentation and extracts pertinent information relating to injuries, diseases, operations and complete medical histories.

  • Screen, assemble, and pack Medical records for retirement of various categories of records in accordance with regulations.

General Experience is described as experience performing progressively responsible clerical, office or other work related administrative support associated to medical records, using a personal computer and office automation software programs.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:

Education Substitution for General Experience for the GS-04: Successful completion of 2 years above high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must include a copy of your transcripts to be considered for this position.)

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
