Title: Medical Records Coordinator
FLSA Status: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $22 - $27.92 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday
Sedgebrook is recruiting for a hospitality focused Medical Records Coordinator to join our team! This position is responsible for proper recording, filing and upkeep of the Health center medical records in accordance with current federal and state guidelines.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Medical Records Coordinator:
Receive and follow work schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
Assist in organizing the medical records department in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility, to assure that medical records can be properly maintained.
Files information such as nurses' notes, resident assessments, progress notes, laboratory reports, x-ray results, correspondence, etc., into resident charts.
Collect, assemble, check and file resident charts as required.
Ensure incomplete records/charts are returned to appropriate departments or personnel for correction.
Ensure resident charts/records do not leave the medical records room except as authorized.
Maintain a record of authorized information released from charts/records, i.e., type information, name of recipient, date, etc.
Retrieve medical records when requested by authorized personnel (i.e., physicians, nurses, government agencies and personnel, etc.)
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) required or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform simple arithmetic.
Electronic medical records experience preferred.
One year of experience in a health care setting preferably in long term care.
