Compensation: Approximately $18.37 - $21.30 per hour. All individual pay rates are calculated based on the candidate's experience and internal equity.

Overview of Role:

Support patient care by ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and completeness of patient records, including the oversight of health record disclosures and the management of incoming health information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes scanning and data entry of medical information.

  • Prepares and sends medical records as requested.

  • Is proficient in pulling medical record data from outside organizational portals .

  • Manages and distributes faxes and other incoming health information.

  • Follows confidentiality procedures.

  • Assists clinical team with obtaining medical records.

  • Provide excellent customer service, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality.

  • Follows appropriate telephone protocol for patients and employees.

  • Initiates, update and maintain electronic medical record.

  • Serves as HIPAA Subject Matter Expert (SME).

  • Maintains My Clinica Connection knowledge and demonstrates the ability to respond timely and appropriately.

  • Is knowledgeable of sending charts to and requesting charts from the medical records storage company.

  • Works Electronic Medical Record (EMR) tasks on a daily basis.

  • Responsible for entering pregnancy delivery information.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • One year in a medical facility preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both spoken and written, is required.

  • Basic computer, math and phone skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time.

  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

  • Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community is required.

  • Able to flourish in a team management system.

  • Reports to work on time and on a regular basis.
