Summary #In compliance with the LGH Standards of Performance, the medical receptionist performs a variety of tasks.# The individual must be highly organized with outstanding customer service.# Ability to multitask and be productive both independently as well as with the team.# Accuracy and attention to detail is a must in this position as is ability to use electronic medical records systems. The position requires a thorough knowledge of LGH MVCA policies and procedures. Responsibilities Greet patients and verify all demographics including insurance information. Maintain copies of identification and insurance cards as needed. Collect co-payments, provide patient with receipt and follow office procedures for co-payment reconciliation at end of day. Perform Check-In and Check-Out duties as necessary. Answer multiple phone lines courteously and take messages, or transfer call accordingly. Schedule office, ancillary and specialty appointments as requested by providers. Make follow-up appointments for patient as well as instructing patients and directing them appropriately. Send out new patient packets when appointment is scheduled. Obtain precertification and referrals as needed. Assist all providers with Meaningful Use, MSSP, and AQC measures. Document within EMR with required information to satisfy each registry. Will help to provide assistance to other employed physician practices as required and other duties as assigned by manager.
