HPM manages 30 locations throughout Long Island, NYC including the 5 boroughs, Westchester and NJ. HOURS:

Monday - Friday: 11:30 - 8:00

Requirements

The Medical Receptionist's primary objective is to create an AMAZING patient experience on a daily basis.

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH
  • Responds to inquiries, resolves risen issues, collect co pays and schedules patient appointments.
  • Maintain the daily operations of the office by following standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in comforting the patients and maintaining the reception area.
  • Contribute to team effort by smoothly transitioning into daily roles as needed.
  • Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist patients w/completing all necessary forms and documentation.
  • Responsible for obtaining and filing patients charts as needed.
  • Responsible for protecting patients privacy by maintaining confidentiality of personal information (HIPAA compliant).
  • Navigate through NextGen to access and provide patient information.
  • Maintain compliance by contacting patients to confirm appointments.
  • Responsible for the opening and closing procedures of the office as needed.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience with medical verification is a plus.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Uses leadership skills and clinical judgment in coordinating resident care and directing and delegating activities of the resident care team, specifically the LPN, CAN and Unit Secretary. Responsibilities Include: 1. Utilizes the nursing process in giving care to assigned residents. * Performs comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessment. * Utilizes assessment data to determine resident's actual or potential problems. * Chooses and plans for appropriate proper nursing interventions and adjust care, if appropriate. * Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members in developing and implementing plan of care. * Evaluates resident's responses to interventions. 2. Administers prescribed medications correctly. * Determines medications to be administered, its actions, indications, therapeutic effects, adverse reactions, etc. * Administers medications timely, accurately, and consistently as per protocol. * Uses knowledge in the administration of medications based on a resident's age. 3. Participates in the education of resident and/or significant other. * Explains procedure and intervention to resident as indicated/requested. * Recognizes and utilizes health teaching opportunities and resources/ materials available for teaching. * Assesses the effectiveness of resident teaching by feedback from resident and family. 4. Participates in interdisciplinary discharge planning activities. * Identifies discharge planning activities. * Recognizes and utilizes health teaching opportunities and resources/ materials available for teaching. * Initiates resident education in preparation for discharge. 5. Follows departmental policy with documentation. * Documents comprehensive assessment and reassessment of residents' needs within prescribed time frame. * Utilizes care plan and writes progress notes to reflect residents' status accurately. * Uses appropriate methods of documentation according to departmental policy. 6. Performs related duties, as required. Qualifications * Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited program within 24 months of employment, if hired after September 1, 2010 and obtain a BSN degree within five (5) years of employment date. * Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. * BLS Certification. * One year previous experience including charge nurse, Minimum Data Sets (MDS) and Patient Review Instruments (PRI).
