Job Description:

Execute the North America Medical strategy through medical review for Alcon's medical device portfolio. Assure accuracy and compliance with labelling of promotional and advertising materials in their assigned therapeutic areas. The position includes significant cross-functional engagement with regional marketing, regulatory, legal and compliance.

  • Provide the medical review of promotional and advertising materials in accordance with approved labeling and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards that support effective and safe use of Alcon products by patients and the medical community

  • Provide medical review of concept/draft advertising and promotional materials

  • Remain current with medical literature in assigned therapeutic areas

  • Provide accurate and consistent medical review of advertising and promotional materials on time and minimize review cycles for material approval

  • Work with cross-functional team supporting review of advertising and promotional materials and with Medical Director in assigned therapeutic areas to optimize effectiveness and mitigate risk of promotional claims

Performs advanced sophisticated collection, analysis and evaluation of evidence utilizing standardized and industry acceptable techniques 2. Reports results to agencies 3. Conducts education instruction on lab procedures used by the County 6. May participate in independent research 7. May provide technical assistance to law enforcement agencies 8. Performs other related duties involved in the operation of the Medical Examiner's Office as assigned or required Minimum Requirements: NOTE: YOU MUST FILL OUT THE WORK HISTORY and EDUCATION SECTIONS OF APPLICATION TO SHOW YOU HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS REQUIRED BY HIRING DEPARTMENT OR BE DISQUALIFIED. TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree in a Life Science + Seven (7) full-time years of science work experience, including Six (6) full-time months of forensic human DNA laboratory work experience. OR TO APPLY, must have a Master's degree or higher in a Life Science + Five (5) full-time years of science work experience, including Six (6) full-time months of forensic human DNA laboratory work experience. Master's degree is preferred. Successful completion of coursework (graduate or undergraduate level) covering the following subject areas: biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology; and coursework and/or training in statistics and/or population genetics as it applies to forensic DNA analysis. Previous memorialization as a qualified DNA analyst in an external laboratory QAS audit is highly preferred. Prior experience with STRmix® probabilistic genotyping software is highly preferred. Note: Effective January 1, 2019, must have or obtain a Forensic Analyst License as a DNA Analyst through the Texas Forensic Science Commission prior to casework authorization. Direct experience as a court-qualified expert in DNA analysis is preferred. Candidates must be able to pass a competency examination given by the supervisor prior to hiring or within six (6) months from the date of hire. Elected membership in learned scientific societies in the particular area of expertise is desirable. Must have advanced level of knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of field of specialty. Requires successful completion of annual externally administered proficiency testing. Must maintain knowledge of up to date technology and practices in the field of specialty. Ability to use PC and applicable software. Must have advanced level oral and written/presentation and communication skills. Ability to make independent judgment. Must have advanced skills in laboratory protocols/procedures, techniques and knowledge of evidence handling and testing procedures. If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process. Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements:While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, grasp, stoop, lift, push and pull. Occasional lifting of heavy laboratory equipment is required. The hazards associated with this position may include handling physical evidence from evaluating loaded firearms and explosives, to dealing with dangerous chemicals and blood borne pathogens.
