Position Purpose: Develop, recommend and implement interventions at the practice and membership level to improve clinical quality and operational efficiency. Collaborate with practices to facilitate redesign efforts, support care teams, introduce population health management and support achievement towards improved financial, process and clinical outcomes.

Serve as a liaison to practices to provide on-site and remote assistance and facilitation to the clinicians, care teams and their associated practices to drive improvement in clinical quality and operational efficiency.

Develop and execute set of intervention work plans to drive practice improve quality measures and transformation.

Develop and implement workflow design and redesign, including electronic health record (EHR) optimization, clinical documentation, billing practices, assessments, financial analyses, and financial performance improvement and reporting.

Develop and implement changes to root causes of financial and quality underperformance and communicate strategies to providers and provider groups.

Review and interpret summary data and performance reports such as pay for performance, HEDIS and medical cost ratio and develop data driven provider performance strategies.

Actively participate in cross-functional teams to conduct work and resolve enterprise and regional issues

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business, public health or related field or equivalent experience. Master's in healthcare administration or public health preferred. 4 years of analysis or provider/medical operations experience, preferably in the healthcare or managed care industry.

License/Certification: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) license preferred. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Master of Health Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH), or Project Management Program (PMP) or Lean/Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) certification preferred.

Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospital (St. Joseph's Medical Center), we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides primary care for family medicine and internal medicine, gastroenterology, neurology, colon and rectal surgery, urology, general surgery, psychiatry, and radiation oncology. Responsibilities The Medical Assistant (MA) Float position is responsible for knowing his/her professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for satisfactorily completing the Dignity Health Medical Foundation orientation period that includes demonstrating skills and behaviors that meet a fully competent level of performance. The MA Float will be assigned to various clinic locations per business need. The MA Float maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment, and performs patient care services that support the physician / provider's practice under the clinical supervision of the Physician, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, physicians assistant or licensed Vocational Nurse. This includes assisting in prepping patients for examinations or procedures, assisting with procedures, relaying instructions from the physician to a patient or authorized person, and collecting patient data. Documenting patient concerns, patient concerns, patient messages, and care provided to the patient in the patients medical record for the physician's review. Administrating medications specifically directed by the physician and performing accurate vital sign measurements and documentation. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: * Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant preferred. * High School diploma or equivalent. * Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.) * Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential. * Medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 coding procedures and reference tools, and pharmacology appropriate to the Medical Assistant scope of practice is essential. * Familiarity with an electronic practice management system is preferred.
