Northside Hospital Cancer Institute is searching for a Medical Physicist to join the radiation oncology team at our Forsyth location. The successful candidate would be one of a team of 15 clinical physicists within an ACR-accredited, vibrant and growing program spanning 12 integrated clinics across metro Atlanta and the surrounding area.
The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology at Forsyth is located in Cumming, GA which is 30 minutes directly north of the Atlanta city limits. The clinic is equipped with three Varian linear accelerators (Truebeam, Trilogy and iX) with Varian Eclipse treatment planning and ARIA record and verify systems, an Elekta Gamma Knife Icon SRS unit, a Varian Bravos HDR, and GE 4DCT scanner. Some of the tools used at this location include Varian ARIA, Eclipse, Velocity, Variseed, Radformation's suite of products, VisionRT, and Sun Nuclear's SunCheck and QA devices. The radiation oncology team at Forsyth includes two full-time physicists with others providing supporting coverage for Gamma Knife procedures, three radiation oncologists, two medical dosimetrists, and several therapists and nurses.
Performs a variety of duties related to providing qualified radiological physics support for the Radiation Oncology Department. This includes but is not limited to equipment monitoring for quality assurance/control, clinical application of radiation oncology and documentation necessary in the therapeutic application. Assists Chief Medical Physicist in all brachytherapy services, including high dose rate and prostate seed implantation. Assists Chief Medical Physicist in ensuring that all physics functions and operations within the department meet state and other regulatory standards.
REQUIRED:
1.Masters Degree in Medical Physics or related field.
2.Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
3.Must be ABR certified or eligible
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
MS or PhD degree in medical physics.
Board certification or eligibility in therapeutic medical physics from the American Board of Radiology (or equivalent).
Three years clinical experience in medical physics, including HDR and LDR prostate planning treatment delivery.
Eligible for addition to the radioactive materials license to handle radioisotopes as a Qualified Medical Physicist.
Experience with Gamma Knife Icon system and treatment planning.
PREFERRED:
1.Experience: 3 years in Radiation Oncology (clinical application of medical physics, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy and Prostate Seed Implants)
