Adjunct Faculty- Medical Office Coding
Position: Rock Valley College is seeking Adjunct Faculty for the Summer and Fall 2019 Semesters to teach Medical Office Coding.
Successful candidates require significant related computer and office experience. Candidates with an associates or bachelor degree are desirable.
Candidates must be familiar with network computer access and file storage; login procedures; online access; email file attachments; and Microsoft Office applications. Office expertise in areas of filing, typing, document preparation and proofing are also desirable.
Coding and transcription adjuncts must possess current certification in coding compliance with a minimum of one year work experience. Coding certifications include, but are not limited to CCA, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certifications.
Candidates with earlier certifications who possess competency in current or evolving coding technology; training and implementation experience are eligible. Competency in ICD 10 coding platform required.
Additional desirable criterion:
Desire to assist RVC in obtaining certification of coding courses.
History of health information technology
Evolution of the health information technology profession
