CareSTL Health is currently seeking energetic, diligent, and hard-working individuals to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medical Office Assistant helps promote access to high-quality care in a School Based Health Clinic setting within but not limited to: Jennings, Ritenour, Riverview Gardens, and Hazelwood School Districts. The Medical Office Assistant will support the clinical team with checking in and checking patients out for visits. This position has responsibility for demonstrating the core values of CareSTL Health: Customer Service, Community, Commitment, Compassion, and Competence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict

the tasks that may be assigned. The Medical Office Assistant may be reassigned duties and

responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. Other

duties may be assigned.

1.Verifies and documents all forms of insurance coverage and maintains appropriate

information in the patient's electronic record

2.Collect all forms accompanying the patient and verify the patient

3.Answering incoming telephone calls, verifying appointments, routing calls, and/or taking

messages appropriately

4.Perform general clerical duties as needed, which include, but are not limited to: processing mail,

filling patients' documents, scan results, and other items into EMR, sending, sort & distribute

faxes received through the fax server

5.Corresponding with patients, maintaining the organization of our office, and ensuring that

our environment is welcoming, calm, and quiet for our patients and their families

Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED as applicable

  • Higher education, as applicable

Experience:

■ At least one year of experience as medical front desk receptionist, or Registration Clerk

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

■ Good oral and verbal communication skills.

■ Good organizational and self-motivational skills.

Transportation Requirement:

  • Must have reliable transportation

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (licenses, programs, certificates, pre-employment check and post an annual screening(s))

■ Copy of High School Diploma/GED as applicable

■ Copy of Transcript or Diploma, licenses, certificates as applicable

■ Current Registration with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry

■ PPD or Chest X-Ray

■ COVID Vaccination

■ Current BLS/CPR Certification as applicable

Additional Information:

  • Clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
