David's Surgical Hospital, a campus of St.
David's North Austin Medical Center, is a destination surgical hospital specializing in orthopedic, neurological, bariatric, gynecological and urological surgery, among others. Located in North Austin, the facility includes a 146,381-square-foot hospital with 40 inpatient rooms, 10 operating room suites, 11 pre-op bays, 19 post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) bays, a six-bed intensive care unit (ICU), imaging, pharmacy and lab services.
Under the direct supervision of a technical or general supervisor, performs laboratory testing and related documentation functions accurately and in a timely manner to provide information for provision of patient care. Performs routine and specialized testing.
Works with computers and specialized equipment. Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Graduate with an Associate's Degree s from an accredited institution.
Qualifies as a technologist under CLIA '88 to perform high complexity testing, one year clinical rotation or internship in an accredited medical technology program, or a 50-week military training course.
Required: Registered MLT (ASCP or equivalent)
