We are searching for a MLT for a PRN, as needed, position on our Blood Bank Team.

The MLT is responsible for performing tests and reporting results of requested Laboratory procedures and providing physicians with accurate and timely results to aid them in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Works under the technical guidance of MT I, MT II, MT III, Laboratory Supervisor or Technical Manager. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.

Education Required

An associate's degree in medical laboratory technology; or successful completion of two years of academic study (a minimum of 90 quarter hours or equivalent) in an accredited college or university which includes at least 20 quarter hours of lecture and laboratory courses in chemical, physical, or biological sciences acceptable toward a major in science.

Education Preferred

License/Certification Required

American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) MT or MLT eligible, or equivalent within one (1) year of hire

License/Certification Preferred

Can distinguish colors, demonstrates independent judgment, demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skill, requires coordination and good manual dexterity skills, demonstrates initiative, possesses ability to work under stress; demonstrates ability to organize.

Requires a High School diploma; 3 years of utilization review or managed care experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Knowledge of the medical management process preferred. Spec Medical Management Specialist I: * Requires a High School diploma. * 2 years of utilization review or managed care experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. * Requires an active, Pharmacy Technician license, if required by state law, State Pharmacy Technician Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) requirements, to practice as a Pharmacy Technician within the scope of practice in a state or territory of the United States. * Requires strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills. * PAR Tool experience preferred. * PA Hub experience preferred. * Ability and willingness to work any 8 hour shift Monday-Friday between 8a-8p ET. * Ability and willingness to work an 8 hour schedule on weekends and holidays in a rotation with other team members.
