Medical Lab Scientist

POSITION SUMMARY Independently performs various qualitative, quantitative clinical laboratory testing and quality control in all section(s) of the laboratory: ie., microbiology, chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and phlebotomy/urinalysis.# All activities performed are in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards.# Tech must be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.# The above level of knowledge, skills and abilities are normally acquired through the successful#completion of an Associate#s or Bachelor#s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science required and an ASCP, NCA or equivalent certification.# Recent graduates of medical laboratory technology are considered ASCP-eligible and will be considered for hire.# If hired, new graduates will be required to pass the ASCP examination within a year after graduation. Laboratory computer knowledge and skills preferred.# Experience in performance of lab duties is preferred, but not required.

A.S.

• Medical Laboratory Technologist, required. Copy of highest degree earned (diploma) or transcripts is required. EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS: 1 year or more preferred, not required. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S): MT (ASCP) or equivalent or ASCP-eligible if new graduate (see above).
