A Medical Laboratory Assistant II (MLA II) is a healthcare worker who can perform a variety of pre-analytical tasks in the laboratory. Must be skilled in collection and processing of all laboratory specimens.
Provides clerical assistance for billing, troubleshooting, data gathering, and verification of lab orders and labels. Position is responsible for shipping/receiving of supplies and specimens. Able to do department record keeping.
Offers excellent customer service by answering phones and helping customers with questions and dispensing products as needed. A MLA II utilizes all necessary computer systems and is an efficient problem solver.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization plus completion of accredited phlebotomy/laboratory program at the technical school or associate degree level. 3 years of experience. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
