Position Summary & Responsibilities
Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) is seeking to fill a Medical Investigator in our Disciplinary division. This position is a fulltime, benefits eligible position.
This position's work involves investigating complaints and disciplinary cases for the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA); preparing official reports of case investigations, along with supplemental reports as needed, ensuring that all relevant and reasonably related information has been obtained and included in the case investigative file. The position requires familiarity with statutes and regulations as they relate to the Healing Arts Act or other health professions' practice acts. The employee will at times be required to coordinate investigative activities with other entities. The investigative and inspection processes require the employee to respectfully and effectively communicate with a broad spectrum of health care professionals, complainants, witnesses, legal professionals, law enforcement, and others, both verbally and in writing. The employee will collect tangible evidence by subpoena or other means identified by logic, experience, training, and legal standards and analyze complex data and information. Some onsite visits and inspections to practices and facilities will be necessary for this employee. They will document and record all processes and findings by means of comprehensive reports, detailed logs, and memorandums, by utilizing technical writing skills and KSBHA established methodologies in a manner that allows legal staff to present cases before review committees, Board members, administrative hearings, and courts in a timely fashion. The employee may be required to provide testimony at depositions, public hearings, and courts of law.
