Medical Imaging - Special Procedures Technologist

Summary of Position: Assists Physicians performing surgical radiographic procedures efficiently utilizing various techniques (Large C-arm operation, Mini C-arm operation, sterile technique # processing CR films) at a technical level that requires independent judgment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Special Procedure Technologists properly position the patients and operate and manipulate the equipment to ensure that usable scans and images are produced in the surgical setting.# Monitors safe radiation practices during procedures for the staff and patients (Shielding, ALARA)# Responsible for following Surgical Center and Imaging Department policies and procedures and completing all competencies, along with providing outstanding customer service.# Verifies all pertinent orders, ensures proper patient safety and preparation for procedures. #Prepares equipment and patients for pain management procedures, including sterile tray and sterile patient preparation. #Provides direct patient care within the patient care area and notifies a clinical staff member if patient condition changes. #Assists with routine stocking and maintenance of procedural rooms and patient care areas. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.# Certifications / Licensure:#Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology and licensed by NYS.# BLS certification. # # Salary Range: $27.50 - 45.16 Pay Grade: 30 Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location. # # #
