Summary of Position: Assists Physicians performing surgical radiographic procedures efficiently utilizing various techniques (Large C-arm operation, Mini C-arm operation, sterile technique # processing CR films) at a technical level that requires independent judgment.
Special Procedure Technologists properly position the patients and operate and manipulate the equipment to ensure that usable scans and images are produced in the surgical setting.# Monitors safe radiation practices during procedures for the staff and patients (Shielding, ALARA)# Responsible for following Surgical Center and Imaging Department policies and procedures and completing all competencies, along with providing outstanding customer service.# Verifies all pertinent orders, ensures proper patient safety and preparation for procedures. #Prepares equipment and patients for pain management procedures, including sterile tray and sterile patient preparation. #Provides direct patient care within the patient care area and notifies a clinical staff member if patient condition changes. #Assists with routine stocking and maintenance of procedural rooms and patient care areas.
