JOBSUMMARY:

Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the

patients served in his/her department. Demonstrates knowledge ofthe

principles of growth and development over the life span and possess theability

to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret theappropriate

information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his orher

age specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the

department's policies and procedures.

Provides health care services applying x-ray energy to assist indiagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and relatedtechniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of alicensed practitioner.

Exercises professional judgment inperformance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medicalethics. May assist the licensed practitioner with the management ofnon-narcotic medications. Provides appropriate patient careand recognizes patient conditions essential to successful completion of theprocedure. Provides services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent,adult, and geriatric patients.

Required Job Qualifications include:

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program. Radiology Technology Program and a member in good standing with the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S).

Licensure:

Registered (ARDMS) must complete ARDMS (vascular) registry within 12 months of hire or transfer.

Experience:

Demonstrates documented competence specific to the Ultrasound position.
