Looking for a Medical Equipment Planner for Dallas.

The Medical Equipment Planner successfully plans and manages the medical equipment scope for healthcare projects ensuring client satisfaction throughout the planning process. This position ensures all planning activities are performed in a manner consistent with documented processes while adhering to planning schedule and budget and ensuring data accuracy with equipment lists. Facilitating the planning process to ensure a successful new construction or renovation project that meets the client's expectations.The Medical Equipment Planner successfully plans and manages the medical equipment scope for healthcare projects ensuring client satisfaction throughout the planning process. This position ensures all planning activities are performed in a manner consistent with documented processes while adhering to planning schedule and budget and ensuring data accuracy with equipment lists. Facilitating the planning process to ensure a successful new construction or renovation project that meets the client's expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing new client relationships

  • Maintains client relationships

  • Research, attend conferences and trade shows to stay current with new products and technology

  • Provide professional customer interface and client relations. Interview and verify medical equipment requirements with the client and make recommendations for "best practices"

  • Identify, evaluate, locate and recommend equipment to be purchased for new healthcare facilities, renovations and expansion of existing healthcare facilities. Work with clients to identify medical equipment needs and requirements based on service line.

  • Attend off-site and remote client planning meetings and conduct virtual meetings.

  • Coordinate with the REVIT design team for FF&E placement on documents.

  • Manage information submittals of required vendors for incorporation into project drawings.

  • Is involved in visioning and preplanning with clients

  • Participate in user group meetings as required for all phases of the project (Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration and Procurement & Equipment Management).

  • Attend design team coordination meetings during all phases of the project.

  • Develop and distribute to project team the medical equipment Responsibilities Matrix.

  • Attend OAC meetings as required by the construction process and the contacted fee.

  • Coordinate and participate in vendor presentations, vendor site visits and pricing negotiations at the client's request.

  • Develop, issue and provide analysis on RFP's as required by the client.

  • Conduct medical equipment inventories which requires knowledge of all medical equipment.

  • Plan equipment on a room by room level for each department, using proprietary software, ESP.

  • Implement client standards during the planning and specification of equipment.

  • Identify equipment and design conflicts during the design process to avoid costly construction delays.

  • Develop and update budgets.

  • Set daily priorities to meet established project deadlines.

  • Facilitate meetings with medical personnel to establish appropriate placement and use of medical equipment for patient care.

  • Review project drawings and coordinate equipment requirements on the plans. Ensures good communication between the project team, facility, divisional personnel, architects and contractors.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for equipment installation and use.

An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and related experience in the Healthcare environment and / or Clinical arena

  • 2 or more years of medical equipment planning experience or related experience preferred

  • Experience planning large complex projects in the acute care setting

  • Understanding of architectural and design schedules and the ability to coordinate equipment programming with building design and construction

  • Background in project management, construction management, architecture, design or project strategy planning preferred

ABOUT THE JOB: Receives, issues, maintains, and documents medical equipment transactions daily relative to medical equipment inventories needed to support hospital and/or departmental projects and/or technical/troubleshooting issues. Responsible for safeguarding hospital medical assets through accurate and detailed documentation as well as managing existing inventories, to thereby ensure that all hospital personnel can complete their daily tasks required to make life better for children. SHIFT: 1st shift 8:00a-4:30p. May have to work over to complete assignments SOME HIGHLIGHTED RESPONSIBILITIES: Inventory: * Document accurate Inventory count on multiple working inventories and maintain accurate documentation. * Support levels of existing inventories in such a manner that the hospital's needs are always met (Example: Demand Services Inventory). Objectives: * Document database or spreadsheets-containing information on receipt, disbursement, location, and transfer of all medical assets hardware per BEST Practices for internal audit * Assist with inventory control by utilizing department maintained RTLS/CMMS software systems. * Assist in return merchandise authorizations and/or deliveries. * Inventory daily counts of capital and non-capital available inventory such as retired, disposed, rental, etc. * Assist with Quarterly Audits for asset inventory focusing on departments data integrity. Equipment Issuance: * Verification of receipt for medical assets with appropriate departmental and hospital staff. Deliver to user if appropriate or instructed based on requests submitted. Objective: * Assist with database or spreadsheets-containing information on receipt, disbursement, location, and transfer of all medical assets hardware. * Gather all data pertaining to medical assets accuracy maintained in the CMMS system that will ensure demand services activates are meet. * Documentation of Equipment Transactions: * Document all equipment movement in CMMS and associated databases or spreadsheets Objective: * Assist database or spreadsheets-containing information on receipt, disbursement, location, and transfer of all medical assets hardware per BEST Practices and internal audit. * Assist in adequate documentation and records and provide to appropriate department individuals as needed. Equipment Receiving: * Physically taking possession of medical related equipment from Distribution Receiving Dock personnel. * Process receiving documents by documenting equipment received into CMMS and filing receivers for signature. * Document information for Equipment Returns. Objectives: * Notification to appropriate parties when all equipment is physically here and ready for install. * Investigates and resolves discrepancies and notify supervisor. Record and document required information into appropriate databases. * Reconcile vendor documentation to purchase orders to ensure correct receipt/delivery from vendor. RTLS Maintenance: * Replacement of tags with low batteries. * Process tags with low battery. * Process new RFID tags. * Annual or as required, NIST tags for Automated Temperature Monitoring. * Annually process/maintain requests for ePHI Tamper Tags. Objective: * Accurately document medical assets in both RTLS & CMMS systems and associated databases and/or spreadsheets. * Replace the old batteries with new, reset battery counter, and reconfigure the tag. * Decontaminate all new tags from vendor for installation and activation of tags. * Production support: * Interface maintenance and support. Objective: * Maintain asset inventory database adds or changes through work order management requests. * Review daily open work orders, assigning to appropriate team members staying with in SLA requirements. * Troubleshoot application, process, and technical issues. Identify required resources and coordinate all efforts until issue is resolved. Complete documentation as needed. * Support training of clinical staff and end-users as needed for CMMS, RTLS & Automated Temperature solutions. * Drive company and/or personal vehicle between various Children's Health location for meetings/projects or to service and/or install equipment.
