Looking for a Medical Equipment Designer for Atlanta.

The Medical Equipment Designer is responsible for modeling medical equipment Revit families and coordinating placement in the floor plans with architects and Medical Equipment Planners. This position actively designs multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring efficient, accurate, and top quality work for clients.The Medical Equipment Designer is responsible for modeling medical equipment Revit families and coordinating placement in the floor plans with architects and Medical Equipment Planners. This position actively designs multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring efficient, accurate, and top quality work for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates, maintains and updates equipment library drawings in REVIT and AutoCAD and tracks equipment specification changes. Update the building floor plans as the project design changes.

  • Communicates with Project Coordinators and Planners for all new items added to ESP to ensure drawings in REVIT and AutoCAD are added.

  • Collaborates with architects, vendors and planners for validity of models and equipment for any project.

  • Creates and maintains technical information on FF&E notes/drawings using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe PageMaker and REVIT and AutoCAD.

  • Maintains logs of drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinates with the team to keep all drawing changes up to date and organized to allow ease of prioritization. Archives out of date drawings.

  • Reviews with Medical Equipment Planners and verifies drawings for dimensional accuracy and adequate documentation.

  • Inputs and maintains information relating to Revit families in our proprietary Equipment Planning Software.

  • Assists with arranging and attending inventories and move in of hospital departments as required

  • Attends drawing review meetings with architects and project team as required.

  • Develops quality assurance process for insuring all architectural changes have been captured and changed. Partners with Project Coordinators for QA / QC.

  • Meets with Medical Equipment Planners to review changes.

  • Updates title block with new date once drawings are updated.

  • Clouds all changes on drawings with a comment.

  • Assists creation of the Typical Room Layout library and reviews annually with Medical Equipment Planners.

  • Organizes files, email communications, and client drawings by project within files.

An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

  • Two or more years of Revit experience

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD

  • Knowledge of building components in REVIT - scaling standards, how to clean up model, placement and linking in models

  • Knowledge of Construction Documents

  • Basic knowledge of hospital and clinic procedures and department functions

  • Interpersonal Skills- ability to interact positively and work effectively with others

  • Comprehension ability to understand information, ideas and direction presented in writing and/or verbally communicated

  • Written Communication Skills ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  • Detail-Oriented ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome

  • Judgment and Decision-Making Skills ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion
