The University of New Mexico Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a motivated, self-directed candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our Medical Education team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for fiscal and administrative functions associated with our education mission that will include set up, maintenance, and tracking of clinical and didactic schedules and evaluations for our learners in the anesthesiology clinical environment. Participating in the planning and execution of resident interviews and other special events, leave tracking, will proctor periodic testing, and be assigned various projects as needed. Duties will also include coordinating medical student program and fellowship programs and program marketing and reporting, and will coordinate functions with internal departments and external entities.

Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Health Administration or related field

  • Experience working with residents, fellowships, and medical students

  • Experience with accreditation and certification requirements and standards

  • Experience with coordinating, planning, and scheduling activities/events, along with development, collaboration, and implementation of a residency educational curriculum

  • Experience with fiscal functions of residency program

  • Experience onboarding new residents to internal and external rotations

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

  • Ability to establish and maintain complex, interrelated training schedules.
