As our Medical Editor, you will…
Be an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for supporting and collaborating with copywriters to deliver clear, concise, factual, and grammatically correct copy to our clients. In addition to this primary role, the Medical Editor will provide editorial and proofreading support for other departments as needed. This includes reviewing concepts, client presentation materials, and new business pitches/RFPs. Ultimately, the Medical Editor plays a crucial role in ensuring quality control across all stages of our clients' projects, spanning both traditional and digital media.
Be Accountable and Responsible
Review material for grammar, spelling, punctuation, typos, and formatting
Ensure style consistency (client-specific, brand, and campaign styles)
Check claims against sources for quality control
Verify correct implementation of client and regulatory changes
Potentially manage freelancers related to your assigned brands
These are the qualifications we're looking for
2 years of experience with editing/copyediting medical copy
BS/BA in English, Journalism, or a similar field from a 4-year college or university
Must be proficient in using PubMed and the American Medical Association Manual of Style to verify references, spelling, medical terminology, and style
High level of computer literacy, including both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat; experience with digital routing systems a plus, such as Work front Proof
Must be extremely detail-oriented, have excellent written and verbal skills, stay cool/calm under pressure, and manage deadlines without sacrificing quality
