As a Medical Documentation Technician, you'll Assist with all document handling and mail room functions, including but not limited to data entering information into company databases/ computer systems. Organizes and maintains health information both in paper files and electronic systems. Opening, sorting and routing mail to appropriate departments daily.
Responsibilities
Facilitates in the processing of incoming and outgoing mail
Sorts, analyzes and scans company mail into the appropriate document file folder
Performs document validation and links document images to patient medical records
Performs document reconciliation using corresponding work queues
Checks data for accuracy, assign codes for insurance reimbursement and mails to insurance companies
Prepares incoming patient and insurance checks for daily bank deposits
May assist in the distribution of inter-office mail and incoming packages, accepts deliveries such as office supplies and assists in storage and/or delivering to the appropriate department
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information
Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department
Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and Private Insurance regulations and requirements
Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required with 1 year office related medical records experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and computer literacy
Proficient and accurate data entry
Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, communication (verbal and in writing with proper spelling, grammar and punctuation), and organizational skills are essential
Ability to operate related office equipment
