Orange Regional Medical Center has begun construction on an exciting new 153,000 square foot, five-story physician office building and a 26,000 square foot, single-story cancer center at the hospital's main campus. When completed in the fall of 2016, the $99 million project will help relocate many outpatient services currently provided at other off-campus locations into new, state-of-the-art buildings on the existing 73-acre hospital campus in Middletown. Both new buildings will be patient-centered healing environments incorporating all the latest technology and amenities for patients and families.

Responsibilities

Provides clinical oversight of all Behavioral Health Services at ORMC/CRMC. Provides leadership in the Department of Psychiatry and assures adequate psychiatrist staffing.

Directly supervises psychiatrists and nurse practitioners and develops and ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to clinical care and treatment of patients is all divisions of the Behavioral Health Service. In collaboration with the BHS Leadership Team, is responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of BHS programs, monitoring operational performance, and developing corrective action, business and strategic plans.

Provides direct patient care in the inpatient and outpatient service and psychiatric consultation services to ED's and medical units at ORMC.

At BHC: as needed, provides psychiatric assessment and treatment to children, adolescents and adults. Provides psychiatric consultation to local schools.

Maintains liaison with community providers and OCDMH by attending meetings as appropriate. Helps prepare for certification and accreditation inspections.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

M.D.

Minimum Experience:
3 years experience as a Medical Director, or comparable supervisory experience as Unit/Section Chief.

Required Certification/Registration:

NYS Medical License

Board Certification in Psychiatry

Working Conditions:

Works in behavioral health, medical/surgical and ambulatory areas. Primarily day shift hours but on-call evenings, nights and weekends may be required, as needed.. May need to verbally or physically assist agitated patients in safely managing behaviors.

May be exposed to stressful and unpredictable situations. Noise level is usually moderate. May participate in tasks that include an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood and body substances or potential for a splash or spill of these substances.

ResponsibilitiesLong Term and Short Term Care The Skilled Nursing Unit at Catskill Regional Medical Center is a 64-bed facility that prides itself on providing the highest quality of care for individuals requiring both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. We are dedicated to promoting the highest level of independence and the best medical care in a home-like setting. We offer both private and semi-private rooms with breathtaking views of the Catskill Mountains. Residents have spacious activity rooms, lounges, sunrooms and internet access. During the warmer months, residents are able to enjoy the beautiful Woodland Wildings Garden, located on the grounds for both residents and their family members. The Skilled Nursing Unit also offers the distinct advantage of being on the main campus of Catskill Regional Medical Center. In the event of a medical crisis, qualified medical experts are just a few steps away. In addition, a great emphasis has been placed on rehabilitation and successfully transitioning residents back in to the community. The therapy team provides resident specific programming right in the unit. The health services provided at the Skilled Nursing Unit allow for complete access to the full range of medical services offered at the hospital- 24-hour skilled nursing care; rehabilitation services; physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies; podiatry services; dental care; and laboratory and radiology services. Our Professional Team is comprised of: Medical Director, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Social Worker, Certified Activities Director, ADA Registered Dieticians, Licensed Physical Therapists, Licensed Occupational Therapists, and Licensed Speech/Language Pathologists.
