Responsibilities:

The Behavioral Health Medical Director provides clinical oversight and direction to the Clinical Department. He/she is the designated behavioral health care practitioner with oversight of the Quality Improvement (QI) program. The Behavioral Medical Director is an active participant in QI Committee meetings providing clinical consultation, and holds final authority for recommendations for medical necessity and appropriateness or quality of care decisions. The Behavioral Medical Director reviews and approves the Outcomes Management and Quality Improvement Plan. This position is responsible for providing consultation and determinations for clinical cases in need of review. The Behavioral Health Medical Director supports the clinical department in applying Medical Necessity Criteria, to render determinations to requests for specific intensity of service. In addition, the Behavioral Health Medical Director will assess clinical aspects of specific cases and provide feedback to Care Managers pertaining to best practice standards and quality of care issues. This position assists in the development of Medical Necessity Criteria and performs utilization management activities. Assures that organizational medical policies and procedures adhere to contractual obligations.

Education/ Experience:

  • MD or DO

  • Required from an accredited educational program in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or Behavioral Clinical Specialty.

  • Board Certified Psychiatrist

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with psychiatric and addictive disease consumers.

  • 10 or more years post-graduate clinical experience.

VIEW JOBS 9/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-12-25T00:00 Responsibilities: The Behavioral Care Manager is responsible for acting as a liaison between the behavioral health department and providers / members to provide care coordination and Care management services. The Care Manager will be responsible for outreach activity with members and providers. The Care Managers will document all activity in the member's medical record in the electronic Care management documentation system. . The Behavioral Care Manager will collaborate with the Clinical Care Managers and the Medical Care Management team in identifying, reviewing and assessing members' need for behavioral health Care management. The Care Manager will assist in providing Care management services for members who have been enrolled in the program. The Behavioral Care Manager will screen and facilitate the review outpatient treatment requests within contractual time frames. The Care Manager will process behavioral health appeals. Other duties and responsibilities are but not limited to: * Provide behavioral health Care management services to Prestige Health Choice Members. * Conduct outreach calls and send outreach letters to Members. * Assist Clinical Care Managers and Medical Care Managers in assessing members' need for behavioral care management services. * Collaborate with the medical Care management team, during scheduled meetings and informally as needed. * Complete Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) with members * Develop care plans (short-term/long-term goals and tasks) and keep them updated. * Outreach to coordinate with PCP and other community providers as needed. * Identify problems/barriers for care coordination and appropriate Care management interventions to resolve. * Identify barriers to member participation in treatment and solutions to resolve. * Thoroughly document all Care management activity in the member medical record in the electronic Care management documentation system. * Participate in ongoing education in regard to the practice of Care management or related skill areas. * Process behavioral health appeals. * Initial review of outpatient treatment requests for eligibility, duplication of services, completeness, and medical necessity. * Disposition of outpatient treatment requests within contractual time frames. * Facilitate Psychiatrist/Psychologist Advisor review of requests. * Perform other related duties and projects as assigned. Education/Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Social Work sociology, psychology, gerontology, nursing or a related human services field. * Individual must have completed a supervised field experience in case management, health or behavioral health as part of the degree requirements. * Must hold a valid, unrestricted State license in a behavioral health specialty or nursing. Acceptable licenses include but are not limited to LBSW, LMSW, RN, LPC. * Current Certification in Case Management (CCM) or eligible to take exam within 24 months of date of hire. * 3-6 years prior experience in behavioral health/human services required; or other equivalent background and experience that would translate well to this position. * Previous experience in an office setting and/or doctor's office/hospital preferred. * Ability to perform multiple tasks-required. * Excellent interpersonal skills-required. * Excellent organization/time management skills-required. * Ability to work effectively in a team environment-required. * PC skills and experience utilizing Microsoft Office-required.
