We are interviewing Credentialing Coordinators to oversee credentialing and manage the medical database of our clients busy hospital for a 3 month contract that could go longer.
Our client is a Santa Monica area hospital known for excellent customer service and award-winning obstetrics, orthopedics and cardiology departments, among others.

Hours 7:30 to 4:00 Monday through Friday
This Credentialing Coordinator role coordinates all aspects of the credentialing process, maintains the medical database and oversees the continued education programs at the hospital.
Ideal candidates bring a BA with solid medical industry experience, a thorough understanding of managing credentialing and continued education programs and a dedicated attitude to helping the community by ensuring top quality medical professionals and administrative staff!
About this Position:

Provide and interpret data on medical staff members
Input data into committee minutes
Prepare notices and documents
Coordinate committee activities
Produce appropriate documentation for committee activities
Manage credentialing activities
Review and upload accurate documents related to personnel files
Follow appropriate staff bylaws and deadlines to ensure compliance
Process applications, reappointments, locum tenens and temporary privileges
Maintain privilege delineation system
Enter data into and manage Medical Staff database
Monitors the Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities
Coordinate catering, audiovisual, speakers and attendee registration of CME programs
Collect paperwork for reports
Special assignments

Requirements:

Bachelors degree (PLUS)
CPMSM Certification (PLUS)
Fire Card (PLUS)
4+ years experience in healthcare environment (MUST)
2+ years experience in medical coordinator roles (PLUS)
Intermediate computer/software skills: Outlook/Word/Excel/Powerpoint (MUST)

Essential Job Functions Maintains, repairs, tests, configures, and sets up medical electronic equipment such as defibrillators, electrocardiographs, electroencephalographs, electrosurgical units, pulse oximeters, and physiological monitoring, ultrasound, and therapeutic equipment. Maintains, repairs, tests, configures, and sets up electro-mechanical devices such as blood pressure measuring equipment, and infusion, syringe, and suction pumps. Maintains and repairs laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, microscopes, and slide stainers. Maintains and repairs other patient related electronic or electro-mechanical equipment. Operates and uses a variety of electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, electrical safety analyzers, defibrillator analyzers, electrocardiograph simulators, electrosurgical analyzers, patient vital sign simulators, blood pressure analyzers, pulse oximeter analyzers, temperature simulators, frequency counters, and computers used for testing, maintenance, and calibration. Inspects electrical and electronic equipment in patient and non-patient care areas, and performs grounding and leakage tests to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment interconnection wiring and cabling. Demonstrates and explains the correct operation of equipment. Requisitions and orders parts and supplies as needed. Keeps time, material, and service records. Maintains, repairs, and tests nurse call, paging, and intercom systems. Maintains, repairs, tests, and installs televisions and video monitors, associated cable hook-ups, and signal distribution devices in patient and non-patient care areas; and, installs and repairs closed-circuit television systems used for medical or patient safety purposes. Maintains and repairs wired and wireless medical telemetry devices and related equipment. Requirements SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: An Associate of Science degree* from an accredited institution, in Biomedical Electronics Technology, Electronics Technology, or a directly related field; or, equivalent military training -AND- three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of medical and patient care electronic equipment, one (1) year of which must have been at the journey-level. LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. Physical Class III – Moderate: Includes standing or walking most of the time, with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighting over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: VISION: Vision and color perception must be adequate to effectively and safely perform essential job-related functions.
