Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicate directly with patients regarding their financial responsibility from services at the facility.
Documents all calls timely and accurately in the patients' account in the billing system.
Establishes payment arrangements per company policy.
Manages outstanding self-pay accounts and status for management.
Performs insurance claim follow-ups for insurance denials and appeals.
Contact insurance companies to check eligibility and benefits via phone or online portals.
Runs patient reports to ensure billing information is updated and accurate.

Assist with other business functions, as needed and is crossed trained to effectively perform other job descriptions.
Reports regularly to the Patient Accounting Coordinator about the status of current projects or workflow.
Participates in development of organization procedures and update of forms and manuals.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Maintains strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Assist with other billing/collection duties, as needed
Required Skills:
Qualifications:
High School graduate.
One year of related experience or medical business office experience.
Experience in customer relations or teaching preferred.
Automated billing systems experience.
