MEDICAL CARE TECHNICIAN II # # # # # JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists nursing/medical staff in providing various patient care activities and related services necessary to care for the health needs of the patient to include physical exam, routine test, administering IV as required and in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. # # # # # # JOB REQUIREMENTS: # # # # EDUCATION:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Successful completion of approved EMT IV / Advanced EMT program preferred. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates. # # # # EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) months experience as EMT-IV preferred. Must successfully complete unit specific competency. # # # # LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: EMT-IV / Advanced EMT License approved by State of Tennessee required.

Basic Life Support Certification required. # # # # PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exposure to infectious agents; frequent walking and standing; lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Heavy Work

• Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as #with or without assistance.#)
