Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide pharmacy claims accounting support to Maryland AIDS Drug Assistance Program (MADAP). This position will also assist pharmacies with claims adjudication and processing pharmacy payments in compliance with regulations to ensure that MADAP is payor of last resort.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.
Notes:
1.Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience�on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2.Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university�for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate must possess one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
1.Experience in pharmacy operations or other related role.
2.Experience/Knowledge understanding and interpreting pharmacy benefits processing information and applying it to pharmacy claims adjudication issues.
3.Experience/Knowledge applying program and federal policies and procedures.
4.Experience with drug formularies.
5.Experience communicating with pharmacies and clients to obtain appropriate pharmacy billing codes.
6.Experience/Knowledge using excel spreadsheets and the google suite apps such as docs, sheets, and drive.
