Job Description and Responsibilities

Willow Valley is hiring a Medical Billing Specialist for our very own Nurse Practitioner's office. The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely invoicing of Residents, maintaining Resident accounts, and resolving billing discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

  • Models exemplary customer service and models care, compassion and trust toward Team Members and Residents.

  • Proficient in electronic coding and billing of Medicare Parts A and B, including Medicare replacements.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Professional billing.

  • Conducts electronic billing procedures - claim review, corrections, submission to primary and secondary insurances, rejection/denial management, reconcile account, manage receipts.

  • Reconciles receipts, deposits billing payments.

  • Posts deposits and charges

  • Assists with monthly Resident billing questions.

  • Communicates with finance team for posting of copays, and deductibles to Resident or Member monthly statement.

  • Maintains accurate files for work in progress and follows up on claims not paid.Reviews and codes invoices for signatory approval.

  • Responsible for supply inventory (ordering/receiving/stocking).

  • Maintains Resident files and daily census.

  • Liaison with insurance companies, and WVC team.

  • Keeps current on billing guidelines, Medicare reimbursement systems, and various insurance requirements.

  • As assigned, assist with front desk reception duties, check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance eligibility.

  • Submits data to government agencies as needed for merit-based incentive program (MIPS)

Qualifications:

  • Two-year college or technical school or

  • six months to one-year related experience and/or training or

  • equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Computer experience: specifically, Microsoft Suite and electronic health records applications such as Point Click Care and/or Nextgen.

Hours:

  • 40 hrs/week
  • 8:00am-4:30pm
