Medical Billing Specialist II- Danville, IN | Plainfield, IN

Hendricks Therapy is looking to fill a full-time Medical Billing Specialist position for our mental health private practice location in Danville or Plainfield, IN. We are expanding to meet the growing mental health needs in our community, and we are looking for compassionate, driven, detail-oriented team members to assist us in our mission to increase accessibility to mental health care in central Indiana.

We are looking for individuals who have 3 or more years of experience in the medical billing field.

Job Description:

• Prepare, review, and transmit claims electronically in a timely manner
• Follow up on unpaid claims
• Research and appeal denied claims
• Assist with patient or insurance inquiries
• Communicate professionally with physicians, management, and peers
• Work with management to monitor outstanding balances and procedures in place
• Responsible for accurate and timely data entry of charges, payments, adjustments, and other transactions to patient accounts as required to include both insurance and patient billing for charges incurred
• Make follow up calls to insurance companies and guarantors as required
• Manage credit balances
• Credentialing is a bonus

• Training will take place in Plainfield, IN
• Possibility to work from home part-time

Must be highly detail oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently

• Requires the ability to troubleshoot errors and resolve accounts within a reasonable amount of time
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with other team members and respond to changes in work processes, leadership, and systems in a constructive manner
• Ability to function effectively within system and software applications
• Ability to plan, analyze, problem-solve, organize, and prioritize work
• Strong typing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel

Requirements

Professional Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Prior billing experience is required
• Higher education in Healthcare billing or Management is a plus
• Strong typing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of Compulink Medical EHR System is a plus
