  • This position is working directly with our customers in a customer support environment. You will be responsible for: Answering patient calls and researching and resolving issues in order to receive maximum profitability for clients; Reviewing claims to make sure that payer specific billing requirements are met and follows-up on billing inquiries; Determining and applying appropriate adjustments, answering patient inquiries, and updating accounts as necessary.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Research and re-bill unpaid claims

  • Research and resolve accounts appearing on Follow-up Reports.

  • Make appropriate decisions and calls to carriers to maximize reimbursement on accounts to be worked.

  • Correct all errors on electronic error reports using all available information.

  • Meet production and quality standards.

  • Assists in identifying current and/or potential billing issues specific to outstanding receivable

  • Presenting data to appropriate parties and partnering to develop resolutions

  • Participates in daily production assignments that will continue to develop understanding and knowledge of processing guidelines and expectations of respective client(s) payer mix

  • Ability to take patient phone calls and assist Customer Service when business needs arise

  • Assist in other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent;

  • At least 1 full year of work experience in a professional environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word

  • Strong attention to detail are required.

  • Qualified candidates will also possess:

  • Computer/data entry skills desired

  • 2-3 years of additional schooling or related experience is a plus

  • Minimum of 1 year A/R Follow Up experience preferred.

  • Medical billing system/software knowledge preferred

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to maintain patient/client confidentiality

The Payment Representative organizes in-patient and out-patient claims for electronic or hard copy mail and forwards to appropriate third party payers. May receive payment, and prepare payment for deposit and forward to appropriate financial institution. Responsible for posting payments, rejections and LOA's to accounts and making corrections to misapplied payments. Reviews claims to make sure that payer specific billing requirements are met, follows-up on billing, determines and applies appropriate adjustments, answers inquiries, and updates accounts as necessary. Requires manual input of payments, scanning info and reconciling deposit logs What are the requirements? * At least 1 year of full time office/administrative work experience * HS Diploma or equivalent * Proficient computer skills ' What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position? * Experience with data entry, payment processing and general bookkeeping/accounting are a plus * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel * Knowledge of the medical A/R process What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? * Healthcare industry experience * Bookkeeping/accounting/banking background * 6,000 Alpha Numeric required, 5% error rate very detail oriented * Overall good knowledge of payment posting responsibilities Join our team today where we are creating a better coordinated, increasingly collaborative, and more efficient healthcare system!
