Medical Biller, Patient Accounting

Responsibilities

The Medical Biller for Patient Accounts performs a variety of office clerical duties in connection with inpatient and outpatient insurance billings and payments. The Medical Biller also assists with coverage of hospital switchboard.

Essential Functions:

• Records and maintains complete and accurate transactions and patient billing information in the Hospital's billing system in order to submit timely and accurate bills to patients and third parties.

• Processes worklists and reports as may be assigned according to established procedures.

• Responds in a timely manner to questions or request for information received from Hospital departments, other staff members, patients and insurance companies.

• Submits bills to patients and third parties as may be assigned according to established procedures.

• Performs other task/functions as may be assigned.

Qualifications
