Briarwood Family Medicine Ambulatory Care facility is dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. This position is located at Briarwood Family Medicine 1801 Briarwood Circle in Ann Arbor.
Act as Lead Medical Assistant Senior for Briarwood Family Medicine. You will serve as a positive role model and mentor for all staff. Your duties will require you to act as a change agent who promotes process improvement and sharing of best practices with all staff. Help to build a culture that promotes team work, open, honest communication and collaboration with all customers; internal and external. Coach and support staff to promote improvement and positive performance.
Acts as an integral member of the leadership team. Seek and foster constructive approaches to resolving workplace conflicts and issues. Promotes and recognizes the contribution of others. Understand and follows through with delegated responsibilities in a positive manner. Assist in following up on disciplinary measure and guidelines with HCM. Capitalize on and utilize MA staff to their fullest potential.
Coordinate MA staff training and development to ensure mandatories are kept current and completed on time.
Leads process improvements and supports implementation of changes.
High school diploma or GED.
Graduation from a medical assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experience.
Demonstrated ability to perform all duties required of a Medical Assistant.
Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in laboratory and patient care activities.
Experience in an outpatient setting, preferably in a Primary Care setting.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Must have good attendance record.
Certification as a Medical Assistant.
Experience as a team lead is preferred.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team or project.
Experience facilitating and coordinating a patient's continuum of care, as well as, identifying ad recommending appropriate resources available.

Participates in identifying, acting, and following through completely on problems and tasks
Coordinates or problem solves issues related to the retrieval of medical information

Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.
Familiarity with Michigan Medicine electronic medical record systems.
Knowledge of university policies & procedures.
Bachelor's degree in social work, business administration, or other related field.
This is a 40 hour full-time position, Monday-Saturday. Must be available and flexible with schedule for Saturdays and evening rotation.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
