MEDICAL ASSISTING INSTRUCTOR
Ameritech College is hiring a part time MA Instructor to assist full time MA Instructor. Teach students about managing and working in a medical practice. The curriculum includes training in a wide variety of competency-based skills for both clinical and administrative areas necessary for assisting the physician in his/her practice.
1.Prepare and plan for effective classroom, lab and/or clinical instruction, ensuring that lesson plans are well prepared and that they are presented enthusiastically in a supportive learning environment.
2.Ensure that the learning environment is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all equipment is kept in good, serviceable repair and stored properly.
3.Identify, advise and remediate students with behavioral and/or academic deficiencies; monitor, evaluate and counsel students on their academics, attendance and professionalism; refer students to Administrator for follow-up counseling on academic and non-academic issues that may be more appropriately resolved at that level.
4.Conduct proficiency examinations and competency evaluations in accordance with the departmental curriculum.
5.Maintain student academic, attendance and counseling records in a timely and accurate manner.
6.Assist in compilation of statistical and other information as requested for accreditation and other organizational needs.
7.Comply with and help enforce all School policies as detailed in the catalog and in other administrative references.
8.Maintain professional credentials by attending outside workshops, seminars and related classes to improve instructional and professional skills as time and resources permit.
9.Perform substitute instruction or other education related assignments when required, even across departmental lines.
10. Attend and actively participate in School functions, including but not limited to, receptions, marketing events, graduations, faculty staff meetings, in-service training, advisory committees, etc.

Education and Licenses:
1.Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant program or Associate degree preferred.
2.A CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) or NCMA (NCCT) certification required.
3.A command of theory and contemporary technical knowledge.
1.Minimum of one years of practical work experience and demonstrated competence in the subject field or a closely related field.
2.Prior teaching experiences a plus but not required as you will be assisting an instructor this first semester.
1.Physical requirements may require sitting and/or standing for several hours at a time, lifting, bending, squatting, hearing, seeing, speaking, use of hands and fingers.
2.Must be able to lift over 25 lbs.
Skills and Abilities:
1.Demonstrate appropriate presentation, speaking and writing skills.
2.Demonstrate appropriate use of written materials, visual aids and electronic audiovisual media to supplement instruction.
3.Ability to teach concepts effectively and for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
4.Demonstrate effective counseling and reflective listening skills.
5.Require computer proficiency in MS Word and/or WordPerfect. Working knowledge of Excel and Power Point helpful.
6.Must demonstrate adequacy in instructional methodology and techniques as evidenced by evaluation within 30 days of hire.
