Overview

We at Fairview Health Services is looking for Medical Assistant to be based out of the Fridley Specialty Clinic! The Flex MA will support multiple specialties, and will travel to other locations (i.e.

Andover, Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, Elk River) as needed. This position is approved for 80 hours every two weeks, and is benefit eligible. This MA will be a member of a smaller Flex workforce team that includes employees that regularly travel to multiple clinics to fill open shifts. The expectation is to be available to travel at any time to different locations based on the business needs.

The length of the assignment at a location will vary based on need, which includes travel to more than one clinic during the day at a moment's notice. The nature of travel expectations and the unpredictable schedule expectations provide a clear distinction between flex employees and very predictable schedules the standard MA role. Due to the schedule and working at multiple sites, this position does offer a pay incentive.

Responsibilities/Job Description

As a key participant in the patients care team, a Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/support network. The Medical Assistant will collect information and detail the patient's visit. The MA is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting communication with all members of the team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

  • Easily communicates compliance and concerns to others involved with patient care

  • Partner with patient and/or care-giver in care/decision making

  • Engage in change to improve the work environment and patient experience

  • Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences

  • Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patient

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Current BLS certification required

Preferred:

  • Current certification by the AAMA.

  • Previous experience in a clinic setting.
