Medical Assistant/Family Practice - 23 Hours Per Week (M-F)

Toledo Clinic's Timberstone Family Practice Office located on Holland-Sylvania Rd in Toledo, is seeking a Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to provide both clinical and clerical support as a Float in the office. This position will provide clerical MA support and also serve as a back up to the clinical MAs when needed.

This part-time position will be scheduled 23 hours per week (office is open M-F, no weekends, holidays or late evenings). Qualified candidates will have their MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA).

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants and Certified Patient Care Techs. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants/Certified Patient Care Techs will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.

Works as a float to cover different areas of the office as needed.

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1.Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).

2.Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.). Handles incoming faxes.

3.Escorting patients to exam room.

4.Preparing exam rooms.

5.Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).

6.Sterilizing and preparing instruments.

7.At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.

8.Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.

9.Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.

10. Administering injections.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:

• Excellent interpersonal skills required.

• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.

• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.

• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA, CCMA or RMA)

• Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures

• Must be computer proficient.

Education:

• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.

Preferred:

• Clinical medical assisting experience preferred. Experience with EHR helpful.
