Job Summary:

This person provides support in the medical field by performing various medical and clerical activities to assure quality care and a more efficient work place.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of six months work experience in a health care facility performing duties relating to patient care is preferred.

Additional experience involving computerized data equipment is preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain and display professionalism with customers and coworkers.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Basic computer and telephone skills.
Flexibility and adaptability.
A sense of the importance of the medical assistant?s role as a patient advocate.
Willingness to be accountable/responsible for own actions.
Must demonstrate competence in BCLS within six months in position by obtaining certification.
Maintains certification and competency in Mandatory Reporting.

VIEW JOBS 1/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-16T00:00 Summary of Key Responsibilities: The Adult Oncology Nurse Navigator functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team and serves as an advocate and educator for cancer patients, from diagnosis through end of active treatment. The Adult Oncology Nurse Navigator's primary function is to ensure the patient remains compliant to the treatment plan. Navigators achieve this goal by building relationships with patients and physicians, coordinating the plan of care, assisting with appointments, transportation needs, education, resource provision and/or representation within the multidisciplinary care environment. The Navigator also assumes responsibility and accountability for the management of resources to achieve efficient, high-quality outcomes for cancer patients, including support with interdisciplinary and cross-facililty coverage and collaboration. The Navigator will serve as a liaison between the patient and family, all physicians involved in that patient's care, internal and external healthcare providers, support network members, and the wider healthcare community. This role will require collaboration with local physician liaisons and leadership to conduct internal and external outreach and marketing. Certification or License: Minimum Required Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) Preferred Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification achieved or in progress Education: Required Associates Degree (2 year program) accredited school of professional nursing Experience: Preferred Previous RN experience 3 years Type of Experience: Preferred * Experience in program development * Experience as a nurse navigator and/or patient educator in oncology * Experience in leadership * Experience in customer service * 1-5 years oncology nursing experience We are an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
