Job Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for direct patient care and provides clinical support to providers.
Duties include but are not limited to, obtaining patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking the clinic with supplies, navigating the electronic health record system, scheduling and following up with appointments, and assisting with medication fill requests, prior authorizations, and scheduling tests, procedures, and consults.
The MA will respectfully communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians and follow UK Healthcare's behavioral expectations for service excellence.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Knowledge in computer operations, communication skills (listening, verbal, written), analytical and research skills, flexibility/adaptability manage multiple priorities, interpersonal abilities.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
One or more years clinical experience preferred.
