Northampton Spine Medicine

Northampton Spine Medicine is located in Cooley Dickinson's multispecialty medical facility located at 22 Atwood Drive, in Northampton, MA. Our office is equipped with a state-of-the-art fluoroscopy suite for interventional and diagnostic procedures. We are pleased to provide expert diagnosis and treatment of disorders causing neck, upper back and low back pain, including special expertise in diagnosis and treatment of sacroiliac problems (where the spine meets the pelvis).

Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Monday through Friday 7:45am-4:15pm. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team. The medical assistant will work 1:1 with our provider in our single provider practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office

  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)

  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)

  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas

  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification required

  • Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred

  • One (1) year technical/vocational training school program or one (1) to three (3) years' experience as a medical assistant preferred
