The Medical Assistant will focus on providing comprehensive assistance for the Preventive Cardiology Clinic (PCC).
This is a full-time position working M-F from 7:30 am
A $1,000.00 sign-on bonus will be offered and paid out in two increments; $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 3 months and $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 6 months. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
Preventive Cardiology Clinic (PCC) is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions:
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit.
Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
Monitor stress testing under appropriate supervision
Holter monitor placement
Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
Give instructions or results to patients as instructed by physician or nurse practitioner either in person or by phone/email/portal
Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
Assist with prior authorizations
Any and all other duties as assigned

Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
Work in the clinic during business hours

Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Understand and execute a variety of instructions
Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
Work independently with minimal supervision
Travel to other work locations, if required
