The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the efficient operation of the clinic. This position involves a diverse set of responsibilities, ranging from IV start and administration to patient care, inventory control, and administrative tasks.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform IV starts, vitamin therapy administration and monitoring of patient during the infusion.
Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients and recording vital signs.
Administer injections as prescribed.
Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper stock levels.
Handle patient correspondence, including scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries.
Input patient information accurately into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Process medication refills as directed by healthcare providers.
Clean and sanitize exam rooms between patient visits.
Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures as needed.
Manage and process lab requisitions and maintain proper lab safety protocols.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ETC:
Proficient in IV start and administration.
Strong organizational and inventory control skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Ability to multitask and prioritize duties efficiently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.
Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) exerting up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
