Medical Assistant Job Summary Medical Assistants work under the direct authority of a physician in an outpatient setting.# The supervising/delegating physician is responsible for medical assistants in performing tasks delegated by the physician.# The medical assistant is also responsible for tasks performed according to specific procedures or as delegated by the physician. #These tasks include collection of patient data including recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, respirations, pulse and electrocardiograms).## Other clinical tasks include venipuncture/phlebotomy (per CLIA quality control regulations), administering intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections {including immunizations/vaccinations}.# The Medical Assistant is a contributing member to the multidisciplinary health care team and must be able to communicate the needs of the patent/significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient#s care.# # Minimum Education/License/Certification Requirements Must be a graduate from a medical assistants program. Hold a valid diploma to practice as a medical assistant. Certification preferred.


Previous work experience is desired but training will be provided for a qualified candidate
