Medical Assistant Requirement(s):
1.High school diploma or GED. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program and externship OR current student of Medical Assistant program which includes an externship. If not nationally certified AMT, RMA, NCMA or CCMA) then must obtain Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) within 6 months of hire

OR
2.No formal Medical Assistant program completed and five (5) years' experience as a Medical Assistant and AMT, RMA, NCMA orCCMA certification required.

VIEW JOBS 5/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-20T00:00 Job Details EMMC is seeking nurses to join our advanced Cardiac Telemetry specialty unit! Day and Night shifts available for Full-Time positions! Day and Night Shifts include: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 POSITION SUMMARY: The focus of the nursing care on this unit is caring for cardiac medical-surgical patients. Provide age appropriate Nursing care to cardiac telemetry med-surg patients. The nurse will be caring for patients with cardiac disease, cardiac surgery post op day 1, pre and post cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. Must be adaptable to a fast paced ever-changing environment. A strong team player. Must possess exemplary customer service skills and demonstrate consistent use of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center's Caring Behaviors. Ability to communicate well with all members of the healthcare team. Must project a professional image at all times. Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be a demonstrated team player. Must demonstrate reliability and accountability to team members and patients. All Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center nurses participate in activities that promote self and staff development as well as the development of unit specific strategic goals. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Current Maine RN license or eligibility to obtain Maine RN license required. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: BLS and ACLS certification or must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Successful completion of an EKG Course and a Cardiac Care Course or must be completed within 12 months of hire. Ability to complete a comprehensive age specific nursing care to the population of patients within the assigned unit/area. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capacity to concentrate in a busy and often stressful environment. Ability to come in close contact with people. Sitting, and extended periods of standing and walking are required. Stretchers, monitors, pumps are moved several times a day to accommodate patient and equipment transfers. The nurse must be able to lift 10 lbs. with one hand to attach IV pumps to IV poles. Reaching and stretching may be required at any time. Ability to push and pull heavy computers on wheels; push wheelchairs with 300+ pound patients, frequently lifting 50 pounds without assistance; high volume of stooping, bending, lifting, pulling and twisting. The nurse must be able to stretch, reach, and retrieve equipment from the supply carts of bend to reach equipment supplied below knee level. Must possess upper body strength, agility and lung capacity necessary to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and have the ability to wear protective equipment and to pass fit testing. Portable O2 tanks are lifted from O2 racks to stretchers to accompany patients. Must be able to perform various sensory requirements such as visual and color acuity, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills and hearing in order to assess and treat the patient accurately. Use of the electronic medical record requires visual acuity for reading information on computer screens and fine motor skills for keyboarding and use of a mouse. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced clinical environment. Participation in unit specific and hospital wide activities that promote self and staff development. Participation in the development of unit specific strategic goals that assist with the fulfillment of the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center mission and vision.
