  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
  • Scheduling and canceling patient appointments
  • Checking in and checking out patients
  • Entering charges and payments
  • Verify patient insurance and demographics
  • Collection of co-payments/ coinsurance and personal balance
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office and to physicians
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. Ordering supplies related to medical practice)
  • All other duties as assigned by on-site Physician(s) and Billing and Collections Director


  • Perform medical assistant procedures under supervision of physician
  • Assist physician in exam rooms
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients chart
  • Ability to perform simple spirometry and other office procedures (can be trained)
  • Call in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Coordinate and schedule procedures between patients and facilities

  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish- preferred

Position Expectations and Responsibilities: * Demonstrate knowledge of injection sites. * Have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. * Be proficient with STAR, HBOC, and Portal systems * Perform aseptic procedures. * Perform office procedures including general administrative duties (ie. phones, scheduling, referrals * Collect patient demographics, data, vital signs, height, weight and basic information about patients' present and previous conditions. * Arrange examining room instruments and equipment. * Apply simple dressings. * Remove sutures or staples from superficial lacerations. * Position, drape and shave patients. * Collect specimens using non-invasive techniques. * Preserve specimens for testing. * Perform venipuncture. Perform pulse oximetry * Provide patient information and instructions. * Have the ability to write simple correspondence. * Have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. * Meet A+ Standards of Excellence Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: * One year certificate from college or technical school AND * One year related experience and/or training Licensure/Regulation/Certification: * Certified or Registered Medical Assistant * BLS certification from American Heart Association Selected Candidate Will be Employed by BocaCare, Inc Physician Network, an affiliate of Boca Raton Regional Hospital * Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites. * The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions. * In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program.
