Role Overview

Dedicated to clinical support as true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants are trained to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the multidisciplinary care team. While we ideally aim to have our clinical support staff members working 1:1 with an assigned provider, they do cross-cover, rotate, and collaborate with various providers to develop their skills, expose them to different styles, and expand their clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office (each provider sees 14-16 patients per day, so Medical Assistants can expect to see between 20-30 patients per day)

  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)

  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to panel management (Scheduling/coordination of patient appointments, general patient guidance, prior authorizations, test results, prescription refills, coordination of care, etc.)

  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas

  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs

  • Other duties as directed by leadership

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is strongly preferred.

  • Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred.

  • National Medical Assistant certification with one of the following organizations preferred:

  • American Assoc. of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - Credential: CMA

  • American Medical Technologists (AMT) - Credential: RMA

  • National Healthcare Association (NHA) - Credential: CCMA

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - Credential: NCMA

(Please Note: National Medical Assistant Certification will be required within six months of hire)
