Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the physician and/or practice manager the Medical Assistant, assists and delivers patient care duties, and provides administrative support throughout the practice.

This individual is also responsible for:

• Participating in the examination process

• Safely handling medical equipment and instruments

• Electronic medical records

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care in all settings in collaboration with other interdisciplinary personnel.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma

• Within one year from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment of MA, RMA, CCMA, CMA (AAMA) or NCMA

May be hired with six months of experience as a STNA, Nursing Assistant or PCA but are not able to administer medication or enter Epic orders until competency demonstration has occurred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must either have six months experience as a Medical Assistant, OR, have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards.

• Basic computer experience required

• Able to perform work in open area with many interruptions by patients and staff

• Demonstrates a caring and positive attitude to patients, visitors, and staff
