Effective April 1, 2024 and expires December 1, 2024. Applicable only for MA & MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to.
The Medical Assistant demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by Plastic & Reconstrutive Surgery. Additionally, the MA demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients. Assists the MD/PA in performing procedures and seeing patients in clinic. Work with a great team in the Plastic Surgery department.
Responsibilities
The following duties fall under the responsibility of the Medical Assistant but are not limited to:
Rooming patients and obtaining vitals
Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
Setting up and assisting with office procedures
Chaperone providers during patient examination
Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
ordering clinical supplies
Completing FMLA and Disability forms
Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
Travel to satellite locations as needed
Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Certification Requirements:
Certified Medical Assistant Preferred

Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Other Requirements:
Required to travel to satellite offices
